Skin Care and Make-Up Review Part IV

 LUSH

Jasmine & Henna Fluff Ease [東方美人]  100g  JPY: 1080  USD: 21.95 (220 g)

My hair had been damaged from getting it permed and it says that if you get a perm, you need to make sure the shampoo is perm friendly, which for some odd reason is quite difficult to find in Japan. I tried this leave in treatment and it's good but not GREAT. I'm glad I bought the trial size and not the regular tub. The smell lingers for awhile actually which is nice, if you like Jasmine or flowery scents.

Jungle  [トロピカル ジャンがル]   JPY: 530 USD: 7.95

A solid conditioner, new to LUSH. I only added this purchase to total the amount to 2,000 yen. It's okay. After shampooing and rinsing, you glide this solid conditioner on your hair. It doesn't lather like people complain, which I find odd because conditioner doesn't lather but you don't know if it's enough. My hair has a problem of drying out easily and this conditioner didn't really wow me. Good use for the gym though, if you don't want to use your gym's conditioner.

Karma Komba [柊の贈りもの]   JPY: 850 USD: 10.95

This is a number one seller in terms of solid shampoo. This says it's for nomal hair but it dried out my hair a little. The smell lingers like all LUSH products. It's a mix of vanilla and rose, along with rosemary and tea tree. I think this is better for more oily hair than normal. Not good to use it all the time I think. I use it after a work out.

Sex Bomb [セクシー ダイノマイト]   JPY: 580 USD: 6.45

Jasmine, clary sage, and ylang ylang....never smelled so good to me. A bath bomb mixed with soy milk. Skin felt great and it smelled great too. One of my favorite bath bombs...actually #1 for me.

Argan Oil Hair Essence  JPY: Around 1800 USD: Unknown

For a bottle of 100% Argan Hair Oil, you would need to pay over 4,000 yen or over $40. I saw this and went, heck yeah! It's not 100% Argan Oil but it has made my hair a lot shinier and softer than before. The bottle is pretty big and for long hair, you don't need to more than a push. A purchase well made.

Golden Kiwi Mask   JPY: Around 500 USD: Unknown

I didn't know that the Golden Kiwi line was for sun damaged skin. It's supposed to help brighten your skin. What attracted me to this mask was it's nice smell. I think I would rather use the serum rather than the mask. The mask left my skin feeling nice though.

Skin Care and Make-Up Review Part III

I haven't been updating lately because I've been swamped with work and things to do. I haven't even gotten back to returning emails, unless it's work related. I hope this will end soon. Anyway, here is another long awaited review! I will post the remaining items in the next post. (Too many products!)

Nature Republic Aqua Solution Marine Hydrogel Eye Patch [ネイチャーリパブリック アクアソリューション マリンハイドロゲル]   JPY: 420 USD: Unknown

I decided to try this eye patch because it started to get dark under my eyes. These patches are like gelatin and they do break apart easily. I tried it and it felt like it didn't do much. I didn't think it moisturized much or even have a cooling effect. Wasn't moved at all by this product. Gong.

Missha Official Website

Super Aqua Marine Forest Toner [ミシャ アクア マリーン フォレスト トナー]
JPY: 1580 USD: 27.00

Again, one thing about Missha USA is that they nearly double the price for their products. It makes me wonder how much their products cost in won now. This toner is very different than an western type toner. This doesn't burn or dry out your skin, which makes me wonder if it actually does kill bacteria. Nothing like some alcohol to burn on a cut. This type of toner helps the emulsion, serum, and cream soak into the skin. I don't use a cotton ball/pad. Instead I make sure my hands are clean and massage onto my already washed face. It helps soak into the skin better when I do it this way. I like this toner a lot.

Super Aqua Marine Forest Eye Cream [アクア マリーン フォレスト アイトリートメント]
JPY: 1580 USD: Unknown

This was another attempt to banish the dark circles from my eyes. I wouldn't say they work in that way because I haven't noticed any change but, it has helped the area around my eye from getting dry. I like it but maybe the normal Super Aqua eye cream would be better if I just wanted to stick to something that moisturizes.

Pure Source Sheet Mask: Olive [ ピュア ソース シートマスク (OL)/オリーブ ]
JPY: 220 USD: 1.99

I like this mask. It helped moisturize my skin without overdoing it. Leave it on for about 10-15 minutes after using toner. Once done, you massage the remainder of the essence on your face until it soaks in. Good as a basic mask.

Royal Honey Ampoule (Anti-wrinkle Effect) + Royal Honey Essence Mask Sheet
 JPY: *** USD: ***

Skin Food is another Korean skin care line with stores in Orange County. This is one of the more popular brands and is known for it's nice smell to their cosmetics. I think this mask would be good for people with really dry skin, undernourished, or to be used during the winter. This was a little too much for my skin at the time when I used it. It's a two part mask as well.
